The art. Very comprehensive collection.
Headout's booking system enabled a streamlined entry to the museum and avoided the lengthy queues.

Royal Palace was beautiful. We bought tickets in advance to skip line. We wait around ten minutes to enter the palace. It is worth to visit the Palace.

We did the tour on our own, without a guide, and we LOVED it. Grandiose! Rich! Incredible!
The Armory is also a must-do! Rich in content and history!!!
I recommend it!

Being in the Prado museum was a dream. What a beautiful facility. One suggestion. I was disturbed by the number of "groups" that kept joining the line in front of us. Meaning, some were present and large number (ie 20+) would join the group in line. I would like for the Prado to monitor this. My thought was these were likely non-regulated groups because if they were actually seen as groups by the Prado then they would have entered thru the group entrance. This delayed our access to the museum due to the staggered entrance monitored by the museum at the door.

The Royal palace itself was amazing! It's really worth it. The skip the line you actually don't skip, you still join the same line as who has a ticket already.. but everything went fast.

I didn't use a guide and it was useful and using a flex schedule gave me a different possibility to use the time and it was quite fast to get in.

I had no guide. it was the paintings that moved me to the depth of my soul and enabled me to stand on my tired legs over 7 hours. I love Prado!
In a way it was good that taking photos was banned. It gave me more time to contemplate. Thus I have no photos to share.

Super easy and a big time saver! Buying the tickets ahead of time meant we could skip that line to buy tickets which was very long! We went straight to the area called "line for those with tickets" and got in waiting less than 5 min

Not enough toilets, no direction of visiting, several entrances without indicating which one is correct, apart from the correct one, when you are approaching from other sides it's misleading, rude security, otherwise outstanding place.

The artwork was phenomial. I gained a greater appreication of several artisits work and had a good walk. Need about 2 days to do a good tour, make sure you get up to the 4th floor (there are 2 , 4th floors, one on both sides of the building). Bathrooms are good here, european style go into a main hall to find his and hers. I should not have bought the ticket online, I purchased online because I was standing in line for tickets and didn't want to have them run out, when I went to the have ticket line I got to watch the people I was behind get into the place before I did by 20 minutes. You can get in free from 6 pm to closing ( may be 6:30) if you want to do specific artists, you will need a map to do this, the place is big with lots of really good artists. You are not supposed to take pictures in the museum. For those that like technology, transportation, modeling, history or engineering the Naval Muesem is a couple of miutes walk and for a 3 euro donation is an awesome place. The train musem (a long walk from the naval musem) is also an interesting musem. For a good inexpensive day, on Tuesdays between 10am and 1 you can get into the Real Jardin Botanico (Plaza De Murillo 2 - 28014 Madrid) for free, walk to the Navel musem for a couplre of hours , have lunch and stop at the prado for an evening stroll to look at art. P.S. Some of the musems have a free day once a month, you will have a hard time finding it on your cell phone, you can usally find it online, you will have to wade through all the ticket sites.

Buying a ticket is easy, as is validating it. There was a small queue to get in, but everything went very quickly. We loved visiting the castle and it was great to be able to get in without having to wait for hours. We enjoyed every second.

Some magnificent art made it memorable however the queue was a damper. I fail to understand the point of booking ahead online when one still stands in the sun for nearly half an hour to get into the museum?

The palace did not disappoint, it was as majestic and richly decorated as one might expect.
However the ticket queue was long and there really didn't seem to be much difference between tickets bought online or bought there. No shade to stand under, just the sun above and cement below.

The location is spectacular. Access is very easy by Metro. The avenue is tree-lined and clean. As expected, the museum had a reasonable queue to buy tickets. As I didn't want to queue, I went to the museum's website and bought the ticket online. Within minutes I was inside the museum. Everything was very organized and the service welcoming. As for the Museum, there's no need to comment, it's an unmissable experience. Going to Madrid and not going to the Prado Museum is a huge mistake.

With digital tickets on the smartphone, we bypassed the whole line without needing to convert the reservation into a ticket at the checkout.

Having bought Skip-the-Line tickets, I wasn't quite sure what to expect . But that was exactly what we got . More or less straight into the Palace (which is staggeringly beautiful)

Wonderful palace. Got in with our pre-booked tickets fairly fast. There was still a line of people waiting to get in, but not near as long as the one of people without tickets. Would recommend to buy them in advance and go earlier in the day. Lines are much longer as the day goes on.

The visit to the museum was perfect, a little queue and sun before accessing the museum although those who did not have a ticket were worse.

I learned a lot about Titiano especially and his paintings informed me about Spanish history, especially the Habsburg Charles V and Phillip II
