Pena Palace Tickets

We had managed to only get a spot for the Palace at 13h30. When we got there it was so busy & overwhelming that we didn't have a great time with the crows. We went Mid-May, I can only imagine what peak summer time must be like. We booked the ticket with the transport but the queue was so long to get the bus trip we ended up walking from the gate up & it was about a 500m walk (10-15min stroll) so unless you have difficulties walking, I wouldn't even bother with the transport busses to the top of the Pena Palace. We enjoyed more the park, it was peaceful, well kept and absolutely stunning!

Beautiful castle and scenery. Green space was very peaceful. Audio guide should have been included in an already high price for entry - left a bad feeling

Very nice attraction. Reserve your time slot in advance as it's very busy. Make sure you bring a jacket, as it's windy at heights.

We loved the speed of the fast track of the tickests we purchased. Hated how chaotic the arrival at the train station was and fighting for a seat on the bus which was not sufficient for those of us that prepaid for the transport. We had to take a Tuktuk which turned out to be so much better. The food at the Pena palace restaurant terrible and got a food illness from it. I would recommend the fast track package but you have to be better at providing the prepaid service theat was a joke and will be on trip advisor.

We selected skip the line into Pena Palace. It was well worth it staff were great and escorted us to the entrance ensured we had the Audio Guide working, set us up well for the tour.

We visited the interior of the Pena Palace. It was very interesting. We had booked tickets for 10:30 am so we arrived at 10 am at the iron gate and entered the palace at 10:30 am. The tour was self-guided, but we managed to understand the history of the palace thanks to the written explanations given in each room. We ended our visit with a tour of the exterior and gardens.

Such a beautiful place. Timed entrance and then no one leaves so the place is soooooooo overcrowded. What a shame. By mid morning it is wall to wall people. There has to be a better way to move people out.

Ticketing was easy although it would be good to mention that if you get the combined Palace and garden ticket that you should see the gardens at least 2 hrs before your slotted time - our time was 4:30. The queue through the Palace was at snail pace however was still beautiful to see.

It was very beautiful. If you have to wait a long time to enter the palace, you will be able to skip that and visit other beautiful places of Sintra.

Ticketing experience was very easy! Audio guide for Quinta was a little confusing for directions but we loved exploring the grounds.

the tickets did not download to my email. so when we arrived we had issuwes. the staff there were great, and helped us download your app which solved the issue.

Do not buy the combo fast track entry ticket from Headout, it's a complete waste of money! We bought it because it was supposed to get us entry to Quinta da Regaleir as well but did not, and there was supposed to be transport as well but there was no one to ask about it, no one in sight ever, so we used Uber. If you arrive early for the openeing, as we did, there is no need for the fast track anyway! Pena Palace is worth the visit but as for Quinta da Regaleir, it was underwhelming, I think I would have preffered seeing the Monserrate Palace.

The Pena Palace was well worth seeing and the park is also very impressive. We arrived 15 minutes before our timeslot as indicated. We didn't like the fact that we then had to wait in the blazing sun until a few minutes after the start, although there was a shady courtyard as a waiting area. I would also have liked to simply have the tickets all pdf instead of having to download an app onto my cell phone.

Beauty of the castle and surrounding gardens. What I didn't enjoy was the slowness of the constant lines of people and the number of times o had to present my ticket. That seemed unnecessary

It was great to skip the line! Saved us at least 30 minutes. Wish it included the bus ride up the hill. The processing of credit cards for the bus ticket took a long time.

The Palace is lovely. Lots of architecture and history. There does need to be better signage when walking up the trail. (Can be a bit confusing). Also the walk up is very hard and takes a good hour.

First. My cell phone had not been charged properly at night and the staff at the entrance of the venue could not help me to charge my phone and unload the tickets. I was helped by a bus driver. Secondly, the app only gave me the option to book at 17:30 when the venue was selling tickets for entry from 11 onwards. We had to wait a long time and we were the last ones and almost got kicked out.

The outside of the castle is beautiful. Visiting it inside, not so much. I don't think it is right to charge for the transfer from the entrance to the castle. I recommend taking a tuk tuko cab for 5 eur per person to go see it from the train station. Bus 434 is expensive. 4.55 eur per person for a public bus.

It is a really nice palace. I especially loved the Medieval courtyard, the fabulous ceilings, and the sweeping views. I did not bring headphones. Not sure why they are not offered for a small fee. When we were just about to enter the palace one of the staff, an older lady with a dark pageboy hairstyle disappeared or was busy for about 10 minutes right at 1 pm, leaving the entire queue to stand in the hot sun even longer than they already had with no explanation. Finally she started scanning people in. If the problem was congestion from too many late 12:30 ticket holders, perhaps the number of tickets sold per timeslot needs to be adjusted. The previous week, with advance tickets we had visited Fontainebleau, Chambord, and Chemonceau palaces in France. There was no queuing and herding, real audioguides could be purchased, it was a much better experience.
