On your way to the heart of the city, you might also catch a glimpse of the Sforza Castle, a medieval fortress that now houses several museums and art galleries. The urban core of Milan is easily accessible via numerous modes of transportation, from the metro to intercity trains. Piazza del Duomo, the city's central square, is surrounded by a wide range of retail establishments, dining options, and entertainment venues.
