Canals of Jordaan and Anne Frank House
Begin your tour at Jordaan, a historic and charming neighborhood in Amsterdam, renowned for its picturesque canals, narrow streets, and 17th-century architecture. Once a working-class area, it has evolved into one of the city's most desirable districts, known for its vibrant arts scene, boutique shops, cozy cafes, and lively markets. You can see its local art galleries, and canals, and finally reach the Anne Frank House during your walk.
Your journey commences at the 17th-century canal house at 263 Prinsengracht, the very same house that sheltered Anne Frank and her family from Nazi persecution. At the square near her museum, learn all about its history and her time during the Second World War. You will also visit the historic church of Westerkerk, which Anne Frank often mentioned in her diary. The grand interior includes intricate woodwork, impressive stained glass windows, and an ornate organ. The church's iconic 85-meter-tall bell tower offers panoramic views of Amsterdam from its observation deck.
Leidseplein
Leidseplein is a bustling square known for its lively atmosphere, featuring numerous restaurants, theaters, and nightlife spots. Just a short stroll away, Vondelpark offers a peaceful retreat with picturesque pathways, lush greenery, and tranquil ponds, perfect for a relaxing escape from the city buzz.
