Well lit. Descriptive signs should be on the front and not the sides of the pedestals. There's no real "flow" to the museum - you just have to keep walking back and forth. Was very difficult to sync the app to the phone and hear the recordings.

The Acropolis Museum exhibits were awesome and definitely added to our experience of the Acropolis and the Parthenon. The only issues we had were downloading the audio tour (which could have been operator error) and better signage at the museum would have been nice to know where to go to get through security and for the entrance. We absolutely loved the re commended "Coffee Break".

Incredible museum. Every detail was carefully considered. The interactive Athena exhibit was great fun. I appointing an artist the display of the pigments used on the Parthenon. The caryatids, the pillar with the face, the stone frieze, and the dining area bravo. I would love to have a pin or tshirt of the face in the pillar and the simple floor plan of the Parthenon.

The experience was not as seamless as advertised. The headout app is clumsy. We paid for a guide but I was unable to download it on Clio (I suggest you read through the Clio instructions to download, they are confusing). Instead I used the free one click guide provided at the museum. I expect to pay more to skip the line but not for a guide that is free within the museum.

Unveiling ancient treasures and a living archaeological site

Opened in 2007, the Athens Acropolis Museum has one of the largest collections of fascinating Greek artifacts and sculptures that were housed in the Parthenon. The primary highlight is the cavernous excavation site below the museum. Believed to be an active neighborhood consisting of sea streets, houses, and shops from around 3000 BC to the 12th century A.D., the site is a highly unique exhibit.

A journey through four captivating galleries

There are four main galleries in the museum, and you have access to all of them! The Gallery of the Slopes of the Acropolis contains objects of everyday life used over the centuries. The Archaic Gallery houses some of the oldest findings dating back to the 7th century B.C. The Parthenon Gallery features a video presentation of the Parthenon and how it was designed and built. The final gallery contains a wide variety of fabulous artifacts including the coffered ceiling of the Propylaea and sculptures from the Temple of Athena Nike. You can also spot a range of amazing portraits depicting philosophers and historical figures. If you so choose, you can learn more about these wonderful artefacts and the museum with the help of an engaging audio guide.

Wear sneakers or sports shoes along with comfortable clothing as this activity requires a fair amount of walking.
The museum will stay open until midnight on the full-moon day of August and European Museum Day.
Enter the Acropolis Museum anytime within operating hours with this ticket but note that entry is timed for the ticket with audio tour.
All packages and backpacks must be deposited in the cloakroom on the ground floor of the museum.
