Located at the entrance of Aosta Valley, it holds stories beyond the war, of its transformation from imprisoning war prisoners, to a weapons depot. What to Expect On This Guided Tour

The Fortress of Bard stands at the entrance of the Valley of Aosta. Tool your way along an evocative route, between the panoramic glass elevators, with beautiful views of the Italian landscape. Walk through the exhibits in the restored spaces of the Fortress like the Opera Ferdinando housing the Museum of Fortifications and Borders, Opera Vittorio, with the Alps of the Boys exhibits, and The Opera Mortai, and Polveriera for temporary exhibitions.(Cannoniere, Cantine, Corps of Guard) and the Vallée Culture space. Learn about the transformative history of the Fortress from a certified museum guide like the Carlo Alberto Opera with cells that made up the prisons, aided by exhibits reconstructing its history.
