Did you know?

Bioparc Valencia’s amazing architecture and innovative design, earned it prestigious design awards such as the Europa Nostra Award in 2009.

Bioparc Valencia is strongly committed to conservation, recycling over 95% of its water and generating energy through solar panels. Many species in the zoo are part of European conservation breeding programs.

Owned by the City Council of Valencia and managed by Rainforest, Bioparc Valencia opened its doors in 2008, with most animals relocated from the old city's zoo, which closed the same year.

Bioparc Valencia offers engaging educational programs like Zoo School, where students learn about animals, conservation, and biodiversity in interactive ways. It is Bioparc Valencia’s mission to educate and raise awareness about environmental care and respect.

On May 10, 2012, primatologist Jane Goodall visited Bioparc Valencia, where she observed elephants bathing in the lake, chimpanzees exhibiting familial behaviors, and more. Impressed by the park's immersive experience, she awarded it the "highest rating" during a press conference. Subsequently, she delivered a conference titled "Reasons for Hope" in the park's amphitheater.

Why visit Bioparc Valencia?

Experience authentic African wildlife

Bioparc Valencia is known for its commitment to recreating natural African habitats. Encounter over 4,000 animals, from giraffes and crocodiles to lemurs and jackals, all living in carefully recreated landscapes of Savannah, Madagascar, and Equatorial Africa zones, to enable the animals to live in their natural environment.

Family-friendly amenities

Enjoy a day of exploration with the whole family, taking breaks at the on-site restaurants such as the Baobab Paleao Trees Restaurant and the Pangea Cafe. Children can enjoy the Ndoki playground. Convenient facilities like baby changing stations, children’s playgrounds and microwaves to heat up food, are designed to create a comfortable experience for visitors of all ages.

Educational presentations

Attend the engaging Cycle of Life presentations, where you can learn about the behaviors and interactions of various species. From ospreys hunting for fish to the symbiotic relationship between jackals and vultures, these presentations offer insights into African wildlife and conservation of all animal species.

Enjoy animals in natural environments

At Bioparc, animals enjoy spacious environments that mimic their natural habitats. It's a unique experience to witness giraffes galloping freely, a rare sight in inner-city zoos. One of the most remarkable features is the Kitum Cave system, replicating natural cave environments. Bioparc's dedication to recreating the beauty of the natural world is evident throughout, making it a perfect destination for wildlife enthusiasts.

Immersive Zoo Experience

Unlike conventional zoos, Bioparc Valencia practices Zooimmersion. Zooimmersion is where you can view animals in their natural habitats. There are no glass barriers or railings separating the animals and the visitors but instead there are natural formations such as rocks and rivers. Developed in 1975 by David Hancocks at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo, this approach creates a better experience for both visitors and animals.

The morning admission to BIOPARC was better because of the heat. The only downside was that I would have preferred to choose the morning admission for the aquarium as well, but that wasn't possible. It would have been better.

The biopark is very shady, which is a plus when it gets really hot in August; you get to be up close to the animals, which is a really enjoyable experience. The Oceanographic Museum is beautiful; the most impressive parts are the tunnel under the shark tank and the multitude of jellyfish—it’s truly stunning. I recommend both.

Everything! It's all really cool and very, very beautiful. I had a great time with my family. The only thing is, I wish the dolphin show had been a little longer. I was left wanting more. But even so, it was wonderful.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia with our children! 🐠💙 It was such a special experience for the whole family. As a mum, I was especially amazed because it was the first time in my life that I saw sharks and penguins up close! 🦈🐧 Watching the children’s excitement and simply enjoying the moment together made the visit truly unforgettable. A beautiful place, full of amazing marine life and wonderful memories. Highly recommended for families!

You might want to wait until after noon to get on, since the buses are pretty crowded in the morning. Once you’ve snagged your favorite seat, it’s pure bliss. Our highlight was the City of Arts. Absolutely impressive 👍

I love Valencia . Beautiful and friendly city . I've visited in the past The Oceanografic and The Science Museum but I have never been to The BioParc. I bough the tickets for BioParc online and I chose the 16.00 h tour . Almost all the animals were active , it was not very hot outside ( considering that it was august , I actually have been very lucky and had a little bit of rain that day). I had plenty of time to see all the animals , insects and the fish ( the parc closes at 19.00 h ) . Only a few animals were well hidden or asleep already (like the giant turtles).

Valencia’s Oceanogràfic is one of the city’s most fascinating attractions: its modern architecture, with its large white arches and blue facade, immediately creates the atmosphere of a journey into the marine world. The photo perfectly captures that iconic entrance, where a journey through ecosystems, rare species, and spectacular environments begins. The combined ticket with Bioparc is a smart choice: it lets you enjoy two completely different yet complementary experiences in a single day, traveling from the ocean to the African savannas, all at an excellent value.
