New year, new holidays: 24 places to go in 2024

Last Updated:

As I look ahead to 2024, it's the perfect time to reflect on places that not only offer breathtaking experiences but also resonate with that deeper quest for understanding and connection. You know, 2023 was all about getting back to normal travel for me. It wasn't that cautious, masked-up kind of travel we had in 2021, and it definitely wasn't the revenge travel of 2022. 2023 brought this slow and steady return to normalcy—think peaceful planning, scheduling Christmas, and making trips around the kids' school vacations.

But here’s the twist—travel in 2023 came back with a bit of change. We seem to have become more mindful of where and how we travel. No more rushing around just to kill time! It’s all about soaking in cultures, appreciating natural beauty and just immersing ourselves in our holidays. Well, except for Las Vegas, you know, it’s Las Vegas and some things just don’t change!

But now, there are still some old favorites and must-dos…like, is there ever a year that's not meant for New York and Paris? But there’s also that one destination that’ll enrich your perspectives, help you embrace sustainability, or let you celebrate diverse cultures.

So, whether you're a beach bum, a culture vulture, or an adrenaline junkie, there's a spot on this list with your name on it.
