About the Show


Having enchanted audiences in 1992, Disney's Aladdin made its theatre debut in 2011 at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. Having opened in Broadway in 2014, the show was wildly successful, and soon, made its West End debut in 2016. Breathtaking sets, mind-blowing special effects, over 350 lavish costumes and a fabulous cast and orchestra bring the magic of Disney’s Aladdin to life on the West End stage. The show features all the songs from the classic Academy Award-winning film, including ‘Friend Like Me’, ‘A Whole New World’ and ‘Arabian Nights’. Bringing alive the magic of Agrabah, the Genie and magical songs, comes Aladdin, a musical power packed with exquisite costumes, familiar and lovable Disney songs and a story audiences love. The Story

The story begins in Agrabah, where the Sultan has decided that his daughter, Princess Jasmine, is to only marry a royal suitor. Upset, Princess Jasmine leaves the palace, and meets Aladdin, a streetsmart urchin. They become friends and soon, fall in love. However, fate has other plans for them. When they are captured, Aladdin is sent to retrieve a lamp from the Cave of Wonders by the Sultan's Grand Vizier, Jaffar. When Aladdin rubs the lamp, a Genie trapped inside it grants him three wishes.

Will Aladdin successfully use the wishes to marry Princess Jasmine? Will Jaffar gain possession of the lamp? Will the Genie get his freedom?

Aladdin opened to packed theatres in Prince Edward Theatre in London on June 15, 2016. The Broadway production was nominated in five categories, including Best Musical, and won a Tony for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical. The West End production of Aladdin was nominated in 7 categories in the What’s On Stage Awards, winning the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical and Best Costume Design. It was nominated for Best Set Design in the Olivier Awards.
