Ideally, the best time to visit Athens is between March and May and from September to November. January is one of the the coldest months in Athens, but don't let that stop you because winters are really mild due to Greece's location in the Mediterranean region. In fact, you might just get lucky because of the lack of crowds in the city and might be able to make the best of your visit. Expect the temperatures to soar in the second half of February.
