About the Show
A fresh new take on the classic Cinderella fairytale by musical theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber is now playing at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre! This brand new romantic comedy musical has been written by Oscar winner Emerald Fennell of Promising Young Women fame with lyrics by Olivier and Tony Award winner David Zippel. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella has been directed by Laurence Connor, a broadway icon who has previously directed School of Rock and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The spectacular musical has been choreographed by Joanne Hunter. Taking on the lead role of Cinderella is Carrie Hope Fletcher who has recently wowed audiences and critics alike with her starring turn in Les Miserables at the Sondheim Theatre.
The Story
Journey to Belleville, a beautiful townhome to some of the most beautiful people in the world. The only outlier? Loud and disdainful Cinderella is waiting for her chance to escape. When her only friend, Prince Sebastian, becomes the heir to the throne, her feelings are put into question. When a PR nightmare shakes up all of Belleville, the Queen announces a royal wedding to distract the townsfolk. Watch as Cinderella seeks answers where she has been too afraid to look and becomes the epitome of beauty everyone told her she was.
