Planning to get to Genting Highlands? Take a ride on the Genting Awana Skyway, an aerial route that offers a spectacular bird's-eye view of the Pahang rainforest in Malaysia. This majestic rainforest, dating back nearly 130 million years, is best experienced from the comfort of the newly installed state-of-the-art gondolas. Designed to carry 3,000 passengers per hour each way, the gondola system allows visitors to be whisked away above the treetops, giving them a unique opportunity to witness the forest below. The ride covers a distance of approximately 2.8 km, showcasing lush greenery, waterfalls and a diverse wildlife!

About the Gondola lift system at Genting Awana Skyway
The Genting Awana Skyway features a sophisticated gondola lift system with a choice of two distinct experiences. You can opt for a standard gondola or a glass floor gondola, providing a dramatic view straight down to the ancient rainforest canopy. Each standard cabin seats up to 10 passengers, while the glass floor gondolas have a capacity for six. Out of the 100 gondolas operating on the line, 10 are equipped with these transparent floors. Traveling at a speed of 6 meters per second, the gondolas will take you to the top station Genting SkyAvenue in about 10 minutes. You can also get down at the intermediate station Chin Swee Temple by showing your ticket.
Getting there
- By Bus: If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur then take The Resorts World Tours Express Bus which has stops at Utama, Gombak, Pudu Sentral and KL Sentral. This will directly drop you at the Awana Transport Hub.
- By Taxi: Alternatively, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Kuala Lumpur and request to be taken to the Awana Transport Hub.
Genting Awana Skyway timings
- Genting Cable Car operates daily from 7 AM to 11 PM.
- On 24th and 31st December the cable car will operate from 7 AM to 1 AM.
- From 22nd to 26th January 2024, the Awana Skyway will be under planned closure. Genting Skyway, which is the second cable car line, will be operational in place of it.
- If you are getting down at the intermediate station, Chin Swee Station then the timings are 8 AM to 7 PM.
