The Game Pass, also known as the Digital Pass or Pass Jeux, is a QR code required to enter certain areas of Paris during the Olympic opening ceremony from July 18 to 26, 2024. This pass is necessary for everyone over the age of 13.
Here are the key points to know:
- Individual use: Each pass is for personal use only and cannot be transferred to someone else.
- Free of charge: Obtaining the pass is free.
Application requirements:
- Proof of identity (international visitors should use their passport).
- A photo of yourself.
- Depending on your situation, you may need proof of residence, temporary accommodation, or plans to visit specific locations (such as museums, restaurants, or shows) within the restricted area.
The pass is not issued immediately and can take up to 7 days to process. Once approved, it will be sent to you via email. You can show the pass on your phone or print a copy. If you plan to travel to Paris between July 18 and 26, you must apply for the digital pass in advance.
1. Go to https://www.pass-jeux.gouv.fr/
On the home page, click on "Request a Pass Jeux

2. Click on I wish to apply for a pass for the grey zone of the opening ceremony zone of the Olympic games activated from July 18 to 26.
This type is for visitors with reservations scheduled in the Gray zone on a date between July 18 & July 26 (opening ceremony day).
If you are visiting Paris after July 26 and have a reservation in a hotel near an Olympic event site then you will need to select "I would like to select a Pass for a competition area (red perimeters).

3. OR click on "I would like to select a Pass for a competition area (red perimeters)."
If you are visiting Paris after July 26 and have a reservation in a hotel near an Olympic event site (Red Zone) with off-the-street parking and you have booked a rental car, then you will need to select this option.
4. Click on "I would like to make a request for a driver"
5. Scroll through the categories
6. Set the number of applicants for the "Residents of hotels with off-street parking"
7. Click on "Next"
After clicking on "Next" you will be taken to the next page and will be required to fill in
- The requester's contact details
- Choose between Driver's form OR Vehicle Form
- Fill in the Pass holder/Driver contact details (must be repeated for each applicant)
- Select & upload ID documents
- Select the Red Zone area where your hotel is located
- Fill in the address
- Upload proof of parking such as a rental contract, certificate from the property manager, etc.
- Repeat this process for each pass applicant in your group
8. Click on I would like to make a request for a person.
9. You can set the language based on your preference.
10. Check the box to verify you're not a bot.
11. Click on "Continue" once the tab activates after bot verification is completed.
12. Click on the VISITORS dropdown arrow.
If you'll be travelling to Paris for a vacation and have made reservations for hotels, museums, restaurants, etc. that are within the Gray or Red security zones.
Your reservation details and proof will be required in the following steps so keep them handy.
Residents & Workers tabs are for citizens and expats already living in France.
13. Scroll down to "Pass Jeux (Visitors) - Reservation within the perimeter"
There are other visitation reasons listed in the dropdown as well. You may check & select them as per your requirements.
For example, f you have a reservation for 2 people in Madam Brasserie and you also want to visit a friend living or staying in the security zone, you will need to add both reasons for 2 people, i.e., "Reservation within the perimeter" and "Visit with a person living within the perimeters subject to a Pass"
14. Set the number of passes you require
Anyone 13 years of age or older will require a Pass Jeux.
Ideally, each person should be applying for the pass separately.
However, if you're travelling in a group of 2 or more people then the primary/lead guest of your reservation or group should make the Pass as they will need to upload the reservation details as well.
15. Click on "Next" once you've selected the appropriate reasons for your visit and have set the required number of passes.
16. Fill in the Pass Jeux form requester details
The person applying for the Pass Jeux for themself or their group will need to add their contact details in this section.
Fields marked '*' are mandatory.
17. Check "Use requester’s information…"
If applying for self, then you may check this box to auto-fill the requestor's (your) contact details in the Pass Holder - Contact details.
18. Click on Birthdate *
Add your Date of Birth.
Remember, EVERYONE 13 years or over requires a Pass Jeux to enter the security zones if they're not holding tickets to any Olympic event.
Fields marked '*' are mandatory.
19. Click on ID document type *
Select and add your preferred identity document and enter the ID document number in the next field.
Ideally, select the document type you will be carrying to Paris on your vacation/tour.
You may be asked by security personnel to show your selected ID at the access points along with your Pass Jeux.

20. Click on Select file for uploading copy of the ID document
You will need to add a digital copy of the ID type selected in the previous step. If the copy of your document includes the reverse side as well then you will need to check the "The copy of the ID document already included a reverse side.
" box.
21. Click on Select file for ID document's reverse side
If the digital copy you uploaded does not include the back side of the document, you will need to upload it under "ID document (reverse side)*

This step is not required for digital copies that already include the back side of your ID document or if you have selected your Passport as your ID document type.
22. Click on Select file for the Pass Jeux ID picture
Any recent picture of the Pass Jeux holder that checks all the stated requirements can be uploaded.
23. Check "Access request - Day of the Opening Ceremony"
If your reservation is scheduled for or after 01:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024 (opening ceremony day), then you will need to check this box for each member of your reservation group.
24. Click on Address *
Fill in the address of the hotel, restaurant, museum, etc. that you have a reservation for.
25. Click on Name of establishment *
Enter the name of the place you're visiting have a reservation for.
26. Click on Select file
You will need to upload a copy of your reservation mentioning the date (and time) of your scheduled visit.
Any tickets/vouchers/reservation confirmation emails that mention the date of your visit to the place within the security perimeter are acceptable.
27. Click on Confirm
You have finished your application submission process.
If there are multiple Pass Jeux applicants in your group and or multiple reasons for visits to the security zones then you will need to repeat these steps for each applicant and visit reason type selected.
The details required may vary depending on the visitation reasons selected in Step 8.
