Le Lido, Paris is a legendary venue in the world of performing arts. Known for its exotic productions, featuring dancers, singers, ice-skaters and more, the venue has received world-fame and is known as a premier front runner in producing breakthrough cabarets.
Situated at the Champs-Elysees, Le Lido opened in 1946 and has since been the go-to venue for cabaret and burlesque shows in Paris. The cabaret is known for its fabulous shows, each of which takes millions of dollars to develop. Some of the talented people to have graced the stage include Johnny Hallyday, Edith Piaf, Sylvie Vartan, Marlene Dietrich, Eartha Kitt, Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, Kessler Twins, Shirley MacLaine, Laurel & Hardy, Mitzi Gaynor, Juliet Prowse, Elton John, and Noël Coward. The current show, Paris Merveilles (Paris Wonders), has been directed by theatre legend Franco Dragone. Each version of the Lido Show is made up of 10-20 scenes and runs for around ninety minutes.
What made the Lido world-famous was the revolutionary concept of the Dinner Show. The now-replicated concept originated within the walls of the Lido and played a huge role in propelling the venue to international success. Le Lido Paris Reviews
We booked a Dinner and Show, so we were able to enjoy the theater few hours before the actual show started and to have great dinner and conversation with our friends. They were playing great music, people were dancing, and some of the stars of the show walked around meeting the audience.
The show was visually fascinating and the music was alluring. Franco Dragone's , man behind many of the Cirque du Soleil and Celine Dion Shows, Paris Merveilles Show simply revives an elegant tradition: the Parisian cabaret.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night out here with the dinner option. The seating and service was admirably swift. Food excellent and we loved the cocktails, especially Bluebell. The show itself was stunning- singer, dancers, mime all great. The stand out were the ice skaters and acrobat. We had some lovely photos taken and yes they weren't cheap but great souvenirs. We would not hesitate to go again.
