Your guide to Park Guell entrances: How to enter this iconic park

Last Updated:

Park Güell, Gaudi’s architectural brilliance, was originally planned as a gated community with 60 homes. Today, the park draws about 12 million visitors each year, all eager to see Gaudí's work, and also a place that he called home. When you arrive at the park, choosing the right entrance can be challenging. Since the park is located on a hill, some entrances are harder to reach, and choosing the wrong one might lead to unnecessary walking and wasted time. But don't worry! This guide will explain all the Park Güell entrances and help you choose the most convenient one.

1. Park Güell Main Entrance: Carrer de Larrard or Carrer d’Olot

The main entrance to Park Güell is located on Carrer de Larrard, on the southern side of the park. If you're arriving by bus—H6, 24, D40, or N0—you can get off at the Trav de Dalt - Torrent de les Flors stop and walk about 500 meters to reach this entrance. As you approach, you’ll see a beautiful wrought iron gate, originally from Casa Vicens. Once inside, you’ll be greeted by two pavilions that once served as the caretaker’s house when the park was built. Buses 24 and V19 drop you off about 150 meters from this entrance. If you're coming by Metro Line L5, the closest station is El Carmel. 3. Passatge de Sant Josep de la Muntanya Entrance

The Passatge de Sant Josep de la Muntanya entrance, also known as the Plaça de la Natura entrance, is located at the top of Park Güell. If you're arriving by cab or taxi, ask to be dropped off here, as it’s at a higher elevation, allowing you to explore the park downhill. While there are some parking spots available, parking can be challenging since the entrance is in a residential area. This entrance is also the closest if you take the Green Line (L3) Metro and get off at the Lesseps station—it's about a 13-minute walk from there.
