The stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away has extended its West End run ahead of its release in Spring 2024.
The live stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away has extended its West End run. It is set to premiere at the London Coliseum next spring. The production, initially scheduled for 12 weeks, will now run for an additional five weeks from April 30 to August 24, 2024.

Brought to you by TOHO Co Ltd and co-produced by PW Productions, Spirited Away, presented in the original Japanese (with English captions), is an adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki's Oscar-winning animated film. The stage adaptation is crafted by John Caird, co-adapted by Maoko Imai, and features the original score by Joe Hisaishi.
For the European premiere, the original Japanese cast, led by Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi alternating in the role of Chihiro, will make their return. The creative team includes musical supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Brad Haak, associate music supervision, orchestrations, and Ableton programming by Conor Keelan, set designer Jon Bausor, puppet designer Toby Olié, choreographer Shigehiro Ide, costume designer Sachiko Nakahara, lighting designer Jiro Katsushiba, sound designer Koichi Yamamoto, hair and makeup designer Hiroaki Miyauchi, projection designer Satoshi Kuriyama, stage manager Takashi Hojo, assistant to the director Maoko Imai, associate director Makoto Nagai, co-producer Iain Gillie, and producer Haruka Ogi.
