About the Show

The story of The Great Gatsby is set in the Roaring Twenties, amidst the rich and the sociable, and during the era of jazz. The stage is decorated to resemble one of Jay Gatsby’s parties, and serves as the location for this immersive performance. Featuring Gatsby-esque themes of luxury, hedonism, and extravagance, let this two hour-long play unfold around you as you discover what it really means to live in Gatsby’s fantastical world. You are even encouraged to wear 1920s-style vintage clothes, but if you’re not one for dressing up, be sure to at least wear your dancing shoes! Also, here’s a handy link to the seat availability and real time prices for different seats/dates for Aladdin West End on Headout.

The Story

Jay Gatsby is indeed the master of illusion - his parties are decadent, featuring color schemes of black and gold complete with an excellent bar, band and a balcony-cum-rooftop garden overlooking the dance floor. But beneath the veneer of sophistication is a scandal waiting to explode, and you’ll get to experience it live at this party! Dive deeper into the lives of Jay and his friends Nick Carraway (the narrator), Jordan, Tom, and Daisy, by walking around the stage, participating in the acts (you’ll even get to help Daisy set up a tea party!) as the story of Jay Gatsby unfolds around you, creating an incredible immersive experience!

West End Performance

After its phenomenal run at the Vault Festival, where it was sold out, The Great Gatsby has been making waves as a unique theatre experiment and experience, and has garnered rave reviews from leading critics and media outlets.

Reviews

“Get immersed in jazz-age hedonism... the conviction of the acting, the quality of the music and the frenetic explosions of flapper dancing distil the spirit of the book like liquor in a prohibition-era teapot..”
The Guardian

“Spectacular set pieces with intimate encounters and countless possibilities of who, where and what to follow next.”
