Following a sold-out run at the Royal National Theatre and at West End's Piccadilly Theatre, The Lehman Trilogy will now premiere on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre for a limited 16-week engagement. A three-act play by Italian dramatist Stefano Massini, the show was originally conceived as a radio play before heading to the stage. It follows the lives of the Lehman brothers as they arrive in America to start a new life, the collapse of the firm they established and the financial crisis that followed. This critically-acclaimed Broadway play will preview on 7 March 2020 and officially open on 26 March 2020.
The Lehman Trilogy : About the Show
A true story based on the life of the Lehman brothers, The Lehman Trilogy was developed for radio by Stefano Massini. In July 2018, the play, adapted for stage by Ben Power and directed by Sam Mendes, debuted at the Royal National Theatre. In 2019, The Lehman Trilogy premiered on West End's Piccadilly Theatre for a limited, 16-week engagement. The play was also staged at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City in 2019.
In March 2020, the show will make its much-awaited debut on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre. Featuring the same cast and creatives as the West End production, The Lehman Trilogy is set to star Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale as the three Lehman brothers. The director, Sam Mendes, is the winner of an Academy Award, a Tony and a Golden Globe. The set has been designed by Es Devlin and the costumes have been designed by Katrina Lindsay.
