The Manhattan Theatre Club will open its 2018-19 season with the Broadway premiere of The Nap. The production launched first in London where it got rave reviews. After the successful London production, the comedy is making its way to Broadway with previews scheduled to begin from September 5th and opening night set for September 27th at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
The Story of The Nap
The Nap follows Dylan Spokes, a rising star in the world of snooker. The play begins as Dylan arrives for a championship tournament, where he is warned by the authorities about the consequences of match fixing. After a series of baffling and hilarious events, Dylan finds himself dealing with a bunch of outrageous and over-the-top characters that include his ex-convict father, sassy mom, talkative manager, and a famous gangster. All this set to a live snooker tournament and you have got yourself a play unlike any other you have seen on Broadway!

About Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
Formerly known as Biltmore Theatre, the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre will be hosting the Broadway production of The Nap starting September 5, 2018. The theatre is located at 261 West 47th Street in Midtown Manhattan and is one of the smaller theatres in Broadway with a total seat count of 650. Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp, the theatre opened on December 7, 1925, with the play Easy Come Easy Go and has gone on to host a bunch of special theatre productions over the decades.
