About the Show
Musical genius Andrew Lloyd Webber brings to life the evocative story of The Phantom of the Opera at London’s West End. This moving saga has won hearts and accolades across the world, including Tony and Laurence Olivier Awards. More than a 100 million of The Phantom of the Opera tickets have been sold worldwide, making it the one of most successful musicals in history.
The mesmerising tunes and grand set design work together to narrate the moving and haunting story of the Phantom. The stellar star cast includes Ben Lewis and Kelly Mathieson directed by Harold Prince. The Phantom of the Opera will entertain you and leave you musing over the frailty of love.
The Story
Intrigue and unrequited love dominate the plot of The Phantom of the Opera West End. The musical has been adapted from Gaston Leroux’s book. A ‘phantom’ is known to haunt the Paris Opera House and he takes a young opera singer, Christine Daae, under his tutelage. He guides her and pulls strings in his sinister way to ensure she gets the lead in the play. He finds resistance from Raoul, the young lover of Christine and a mysterious opera guest, the Persian.
In a love story that is bound for tragedy, he reveals himself to Christine who sees his grotesque real self. What happens next is the basic upheaval of human emotions and drama. Set against the grand stage of the Paris Opera House, it provides the perfect backdrop for timeless songs like ‘The Music of the Night’, ‘All I Ask Of You’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. It’s a story that tugs at raw human emotion of simply wanting someone to be loved.

The Phantom of the Opera | Reviews West End London
“The music is soaring and operatic. The characters are archetypes in a way that speaks to the timelessness of mythology. For example, the Phantom is flesh and blood and also "there, inside your mind". He is the angel of music, but he looks like the devil.”
– The Guardian
“The Phantom Of The Opera continues to play to packed houses and, in every way, is an example, perhaps a high water mark, of magical theatre of the ornate, musical kind. Harold Prince's direction is as effective, sharp and detailed as ever”
– British Theatre
