About the Show
Tina Turner’s story is put on stage in a production, but is the brainchild of the legendary soul singer herself. It is a triumphant musical tale, which has the West End audiences revelling in simply the best iconic sounds. Penned by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd, the musical features many of Tina’s best songs that have been used beautifully either to drive the plot forward or drench it in the mood.
Tony-nominated Adrienne Warren’s power-packed performance, stupendous voice, ferocious charm, and beyond perfect impersonation, converts the entire audience into cheering fans. Whirlwind performances by an ensemble cast further add to the beauty of TINA: The Tina Turner Musical. This jukebox musical is a must watch, as it embodies Turner's legacy of hope, and leaves the audience overwhelmingly elated, breathless, and wanting more.
The Story
TINA: The Tina Turner Musical is an inspirational story of one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. The musical chronicles her humble childhood beginnings and her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Along with that, it also portrays the brutal details of the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her former husband. Going through a rollicking rollercoaster ride, Tina dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender, and race in order to become what she is today. This musical is not about her stardom but about the journey she took to get there.
