Game On, World! Unleashing the Future at the Youth Olympic Games

Last Updated:

The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) are an elite sporting event for young people from all over the world. Get ready to be wowed by the world's most talented young athletes, not just showing off their skills but also getting schooled in life beyond the game. It's not your average sports event; it’s a whole vibe with a mix of high-octane sports and life lessons!

1900 athletes, 78 National Olympic Committees, 15 disciplines, 7 sports - all under the snowy skies of Gangwon until February 1, 2024! Riding on the cool legacy of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Gangwon 2024 is where the future stars of winter sports are born. While the outdoor events will be held in PyeongChang, the indoor ice events will take place in the nearby city of Gangneung.

Think of it like the Olympic Games, but with a twist of the new and exciting. We're talking 3-x-3 ice hockey, breakdancing (yep, you read that right), sport climbing, 3-x-3 basketball, and mixed-gender mashups that’ll have you cheering for more.

But hold up, it's not all about the medals and glory. The YOG is also about growing these young guns into well-rounded champs. There's a bunch of cool workshops, team-building fun, and cultural exchanges that’ll teach them about Olympic values, how to be a great ambassador of their sport, and ways to level up their game.

Aimed at the crème de la crème of athletes aged 15 to 18 from around the globe, the YOG is more than a competition; it's a launchpad for tomorrow's sports legends.

Quick flashback – the 2018 Summer YOG in Buenos Aires was a game-changer with 4,000 athletes and nailed it with gender equality. The latest Winter edition in Lausanne in 2020 saw 1,872 athletes strut their stuff. And keep your eyes peeled for the next Summer YOG in Dakar, Senegal, in 2026 – a historic first for the African continent!Enter your text here...
