The story
This 19th-century historical melodrama is set in 15th-century Spain, riddled with evil curses, skulking actors and a lot of action. The monsters are real, with Leonora having to face one of them with the dastardly Count of Luna. The Count is Manrico’s, the titular troubadour, rival for Leonora’s affections. When a duel breaks out between the two after armies are slaughtered, will Leonora’s love win out? Or will Azucena’s terrible secret threaten the entire country?
