Unravel the dark side of tech in Job, a psychological thriller starring Succession's Peter Friedman, coming to Broadway for a limited run.
Why watch Job
Why watch Job
Nominated for the Outer Critics Circle's John Gassner Award for its sold-out off-Broadway run, Job is a Black Mirror-esque take on career culture. Vulture calls it a "slick, cleverly crafted drop-tower ride," that explores the generational clashes and societal anxieties, particularly the disempowerment and rage of Gen-Z. Tony-nominated Peter Friedman (Twelve Angry Men, Hamlet) and his Succession co-star Sydney Lemmon (Helstrom) will reprise their roles. The play is directed by Michael Herwitz, who began his career on Broadway as a child actor.
The story
Jane, a young content moderator for a social media giant, has a very public breakdown at work – and it's all captured on video, going viral instantly. Now, forced by her employer to seek help, she finds herself face-to-face with Loyd, a seasoned therapist stuck in the analog age. As Loyd tries to navigate Jane's fractured psyche and the complexities of her online existence, a battle of wills ensues. Will Loyd's old-school methods crack the code of her troubled mind, or will Jane's digital demons prove too powerful to exorcise?
