Neil Simon's Plaza Suite is a classic comedy about 3 different couples who struggle with issues of love and marriage in a comic manner. Two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick and two-time Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker return to Broadway together to portray the three different hilarious couples in this Broadway classic from a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright. Directed by Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey, this uproarious and piercing look at love and marriage is coming to Hudson Theatre for 17 weeks only.
The Story
The play is composed of three acts, each involving different characters but all set in Suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel. The first act, Visitor From Mamaroneck, introduces the audience to the wedded couple Sam and Karen Nash, who are revisiting their honeymoon suite in an attempt by Karen to bring the love back into their marriage. Will her plan succeed?
The second act, Visitor from Hollywood, involves a meeting between movie producer Jesse Kiplinger and his old lover, suburban housewife Muriel Tate. Will sparks fly between the two old flames?
The third act, Visitor from Forest Hills, revolves around married couple Roy and Norma Hubley on their daughter Mimsey's wedding day. In a rush of nervousness, Mimsey has locked herself in the suite's bathroom and refuses to leave. Will Mimsey miss her wedding?
