Your Experience
Your Experience
Across the Danube into Buda
Your tour begins near the InterContinental Budapest Hotel. Meet your guide, board a comfortable air-conditioned bus, and commence your journey. The bus will first cross the River Danube on the Margaret Bridge, displaying a fascinating view of the mighty river and the city that surrounds it.
Then, you will catch sight of the exteriors of two deservedly famous Hungarian architectural masterpieces - the Hungarian State Opera House and St. Stephen’s Basilica.
Pass by the House of Terror Museum, Vajdahunyad Castle, Széchenyi Bath (Europe's largest thermal spa), the Budapest Zoo, City Park, and Andrássy Avenue before arriving at Heroes’ Square for a 30-minute photo stop.
Unforgettable Vistas
Your next experience is at Gellért Hill and its Citadel, offering a spectacular view of Budapest. You can explore this place for 20 minutes before moving on to the fascinating Buda Castle. Here, your guide will walk you through the palatial complex. Also stroll around to Fisherman’s Bastion and admire its 7 towers - each meant to represent the 7 Hungarian chieftains who led their tribes to settle in present-day Hungary around 895 CE. This bastion was built between 1895 and 1902 to celebrate the 1000th year of this civilization settling in the Carpathian basin.
After this, spend 20 minutes admiring the intimidatingly gorgeous exteriors of the gothic Matthias Church. Get back on the bus to be driven across the Elizabeth Bridge. Pass by the Opera and St. Stephen’s Basilica once again on the way back to the InterContinental Hotel, where the tour ends.
