Calouste Gulbenkian Museum
The permanent collection of Calouste Gulbenkian is in two circuits at this museum. Plug in your headphones, turn on your audio guide and explore the first circuit which houses Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Mesopotamian, Eastern Islamic, Armenian, and Far Eastern galleries. Next, spot European art from the beginning of the 11th century to the middle of the 20th century in the second circuit. Discover the exceptional furniture, paintings, sculptures, and gold and silver objects of the French decorative arts from the 18th century.
Some of the highlights of this museum include Rembrandt's Portrait of an Old Man, Monet's Still Life with Melon, and Manet's The Soap Bubbles.
