Very practical and quick to reserve tickets online, and above all, to avoid wasting time in the queue (which is quite long during school vacations and the summer season) at the ticket office.View original review in FrenchMarkus

Amazing! Didn't realize you could walk around rhe whole main wall and get a feel of what if would be like to live in carcassonne. Not to mention all the cafe and restaurants, again thought there would be a gift shop but we spent a good part of the day there , eating, exploring and shoppingDonald

You think you know what to expect from the tourist pictures, but is so vast and impressive that cameras cannot do it justice. Great signage and information boards help put it all in context. A wonderful experience and such a world treasure to be respected and cherished.Sarah

Entry went smoothly and we really enjoyed the tour. There was always something to read, just the right amount of information and not too much, so that we had time to let the atmosphere and impressions sink in. Highly recommended.View original review in German
Travel back in time to the 13th century and drink in views of the citadel that was once claimed by Romans, Visigoths, Saracens, and Crusaders! Look out for the massive 13th-century fortified walls, ramparts, watchtowers, and a castle that will bring this citadel’s remarkable history to life!
Step into the world of medieval trade and travel at the Cité de Carcassonne, much like the beloved board game, Carcassonne! Walk past the double wall boasting 52 watchtowers, the Great Well, and the Count’s Castle, Château Comtal. Carcassonne was slated for demolition in the 19th century, but you can still walk the ramparts today, thanks to one of Europe’s largest restoration projects.
