Pro tips to help you make a pick

The Singapore Zoo is part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which means other Mandai attractions like Bird Paradise, Night Safari, and River Wonders are right next door. We suggest you make a day out of it and cover as much of the MWR attractions as you can..

If you plan on visiting other Mandai attractions along with Zoo, purchase a Singapore Zoo combo ticket. This way you can pick two or more attractions in one purchase and get better value for money rather than purchasing individual tickets.

If you are visiting the Zoo during peak times of the year (between December-January and June-July), it's best to book your tickets at least a few weeks in advance. Attractions in Singapore generally sell out faster during this period, owing to the uptick in tourists and locals on their vacation.

Make sure to carry your ID with you when you visit the Zoo; they may deny entry if you don't show them proof of identity.

About Singapore Zoo

Visit one of the Top 5 zoos in the world while you're in the Lion City. Spot over 2,800 exotic animals from across 300 species, including free-range Orangutans, Asiatic Lions and more, at the Singapore Zoo.

Did you know?

The Singapore Zoo opened its doors to the public on 27 June 1973. Back then, it was known as the Singapore Zoological Gardens.Since opening in 1973, the zoo pioneered the open-concept design, using natural barriers instead of cages to create immersive habitats.

At the time of inauguration, the zoo had housed 72 animal species; it's come a long way since! Home to the world’s first free-ranging orangutan habitat, where you can watch these primates swinging freely above you.

The first Orangutan birth at Singapore Zoo happened in 1975. It has seen over 40 more Orangutan births since then. Features unique residents like the proboscis monkey, Malayan tapir, and giant flying squirrels; animals rarely seen in other zoos

A restaurant at the Zoo was named after one of the Orangutan residents, Ah Meng! She was also the first non-human Tourism Ambassador of Singapore.

Why visit Singapore Zoo?

Among the top zoos in the world

The Singapore Zoo is one of the Top 5 Zoos in the world. A must-visit if you love nature, conservation, or just want to do something different in Singapore, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Free-range orangutan conservatory

Singapore Zoo has a large free-range habitat created for these orange-haired primates, as part of their conservation efforts. It is a top highlight of the Zoo and is worth the visit.

Exotic animal encounters

Fun fact: around 34% of the animal species you'll see at the Singapore Zoo are classified as "threatened" by the IUCN. See for yourself, the conservation efforts and habitats of these animals, at the Zoo.

"Open" enclosures for animals

The Singapore Zoo is one of the few zoos in the world where you'll see large, carefully created enclosures for the animals that imitate their natural habitats. This helps them feel at home and also provides a unique experience for visitors.

It was a really nice day, and the park wasn't too crowded. It's too bad some of the rides were closed—they would have made the day perfect. I definitely recommend visiting the park!!

wasn't expecting to enjoy it this much, but the attention to detail is incredible. Every zone feels like you've stepped into a completely different world - from Ancient Egypt to Sci-Fi City and New York. Even just walking around is an experienec. The Transformers ride absolutely lived up to the hype, and seeing Bumblebee parked outside was a nice touch. The Ancient Egypt entrance was stunning and probably one of the most impressive themed areas I've seen. The park is clean, well-organised, and easy to explore in a day. Whether you're into thrilling rides, movie-themed attractions, or just taking great photos, there's something for everyone. If you're visiting Singapore, I'd definitely recommend setting aside a full day for Universal Studios. It was worth every minuteee. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
