Everything went perfectly. If the TER train’s final stop (Amiens) were also listed, it would be even easier to find at Gare du Nord. That would have earned you 5 stars.

We had a very unfortunate & unpleasant experience navigating when we got off the metro at Gare de Nord and getting to the correct site to catch the train. Otherwise we enjoyed our day at the Chateau very much

It was a great way to discover the château and its grounds, not forgetting the stables. We were lucky enough to see the dressage demonstration under the dome.

It was handy to have a ticket that included transportation. On the other hand, the explanations concerning this particular service were not up to date and cost us two hours. No need to go to a ticket office, this ticket is a train ticket. It's at the Château that you need to obtain the physical ticket, and this is done simply by showing the QR code at the cash desk. And this ticket doesn't include the exhibition Les riches Heures du Duc de Berry, so you have to pay extra if you want to see it, which was our driving force for going to see the Château as far as we were concerned. You can pay on site or in advance via the Château's website.

  • Embark on a royal journey to the Château of Chantilly

Start your royal journey from the Gare du Nord in Paris aboard a comfortable train, admiring the picturesque landscape. Once you arrive at the Château of Chantilly, you can breeze past the queues with your skip-the-line tickets. The Château, home to the Duke of Aumale, son of King Louis-Philippe, is a treasure trove of rare and precious items. Did you know the Duke was an avid art collector and his collection is considered second only to the Louvre in France? As you traverse the princely apartments with your multilingual audio guide, you'll gain insights into the Duke's life, marveling at the grandeur of his private collection of paintings, furniture, books, and manuscripts.

Step into the world of elegance at the Great Stables

Next, prepare to be awed by the majestic Great Stables, a hallmark of 18th-century architecture. These stables, designed to house 240 horses, were the setting for extravagant receptions, where princes and kings were guests. Today, the Great Stables are home to the Museum of the Horse, a favorite among visitors. Adding to the royal atmosphere is a beautiful fountain, making the Dome a perfect place for festivities, much like in the 18th century. As you head back to Paris, with a newfound appreciation for royal art, you'll understand why this experience is a must for history and horse lovers alike.
