Using public transportation for free. At least two of the places didn't give discounts unless the 72+ was shown which we didn't think was even available.

There are many discounts, but most are not for the main tourist attractions. Good transport network and I was able to try all but the funicular (only available for the 72h card).

Yes, but could do with card at airport to use shuttle bus and directions on where to pick up hotel is difficult to find. The card itself was fantastic used it all the time.

The voucher needs to be exchanged for the physical Budapest Card at the redemption points before use.
Once the voucher is redeemed and the Budapest Card is activated, it remains valid for the number of hours you’ve chosen.
Simply display the Budapest Card at each attraction with a valid photo ID in order to use it.
