Very easy to use the tickets - I scanned the barcode at the barrier then we passed my phone between us so that each of us could scan our tickets. The chateau was spectacular from the opulent bedrooms to the little area where they set out what Napoleon's on-tour accommodation would have looked like. The cafe and toilets were clean but basic - the cafe tables were outside. We saw lots of couples having wedding photos taken which was cute. The grounds were beautiful.

El señor del control de seguridad fue muy amable y con una sonrisa continua. El señor de la entrega de la guía visual, también fue muy amable. Las estancias que se podían visitar hermosas e impecables. Buena experiencia en general.

Le château est très beau. L'intérieur est vraiment bien entretenu. Les meubles sont très beaux et bien agencés dans chaque pièce. Les rideaux sont d'une grande qualité, luxueux et assortis à chaque pièce. Par ailleurs, le personnel est très agréable. Tous les objets sont mis en valeur. Les plafonds et les portes sont magnifiques !

El Palacio hermoso, las entradas me costaron 20 € más o menos pero solo tienes opción a visitar el palacio no los garrones que son muy lindos.. en el palacio tuve q comprar las entradas para los jardines 9€ más. En general todo bien 👍🏻

Ticketing experience was easy, although you need to download an app. The Chateau is amazingly beautiful - worth the trip.

History, architecture & nature

Nestled within 130 hectares of charming parks and gardens, Château de Fontainebleau has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. The magnificent furnishings in the sovereign rooms, created for Napoleon III's Court, will astound you. See the throne of Napoleon, the bed of Marie Antoinette, and the 1807 picture of Empress Josephine in her coronation regalia by François Gérard. Explore the galleries where the court used to meet, as well as 3 opulent chapels and 4 museums of art.

After the revolt in 1814, Napoleon renovated the Château himself, referring to it in his memoirs as 'the true home of Kings.' It was here that Louis XIII had a joyful boyhood, learning to hunt, play tennis, and sketch. Château de Fontainebleau, with more than 1500 rooms and 130 acres of parkland, was and remains a breathtaking labyrinth of French beauty, culture, and architecture.

Take the train (line R) from the Gare de Lyon in Paris to Montargis-Sens. Get off at Fontainebleau-Avon.
