Jeg ville forvente at blive et kvarter mere, for efter vores afgang så 15 minutter senere lyste templet op.... Og det ville være et must Solnedgangen, men ikke din skyld 😉 Beklager, at menuen ikke afspejlede min kommentar

Vidunderligt udflugtssted (Cape Sounio), behagelig og hurtig rejse, hjælpsomt og venligt personale. Men på hjemmesiden så det ud, som om det var en guidet tur, og selvom vi ikke brød os så meget om det, er det faktisk slet ikke en guidet tur, men bare en transfer. Når det er sagt, så er det en meget god og billig service.

Good that bus took us to the place. Time scheduling would be better if we would stay the sunset there. It was great sunset. And we had to leave exactly, during that great sunset.

Comfortable bus. No-one mentioned wifi on board . Was it available, I wonder? We had to get back at 19:40. I think staying another 10 minutes would have made the sunset complete. Why not give us an extra 10 minutes ? No reason really. The commentaries were minimal. So much so that few even thought of giving the guide a tip.... Anyway, a lovely site, and a lovely evening. Finally, it would have been right to mention that the excursion did not inclde the entrance ticket to the site. It is quite cheap anyway, but I was not expecting to have to queue again. Best wishes !

Again, this was overpriced as most of the other tours in Athens, and the experience underwhelming and you spend ~3hrs on the bus in total. It's not really a human guided tour, you listen to it on a portable device on the1.5hr bus trip to the Cape Sounion. My audio device didn't work properly and kept going on and off, therefore I didn't get to enjoy the history. The AC on the outward journey was also not cold at all so it was a sweaty ride in 35c weather! We had just over 1.5hrs at Cape Sounion & Temple of Poisdedon which was more than enough time. The sunset view was breathtaking though!

Your experience

Your tour will begin at the Halandri Metro station in Athens. You will meet your tour guide aboard the air-conditioned tour bus. You will reach the cape just in time to catch the enchanting sunset. Your guide will tell you several intriguing facts and myths about Cape Sounion. It’s interesting to note that Sounion is also mentioned in Homer’s legendary epic, The Odyssey.

The Temple of Poseidon was a popular destination for famous poets and writers from across the world. The English poet Lord Byron is said to have left his signature on the temple marble nearly two centuries ago. Once you are done exploring the temple, spend a few tranquil moments on the coast, watching the sun disappear below the horizon. On your way back, you can visit the Athens Riviera and walk along the promenade. Several of the charming waterfront cafes are certainly worth a visit.

The entrance fee to archeological sites is NOT included with the ticket price. It costs 10 EUR to enter the archaeological site of Sounion.
EU citizens under the age of 25 and non-EU citizens under 5, enjoy free entry!
Wear comfortable walking shoes. A hat might be a useful accessory as well, especially in summer.
