Det var en virkelig magisk oplevelse. Guiden var virkelig sjov, og hun forklarede både historiske fakta og kuriositeter om de steder, vi besøgte, men også om Athen. Vi stoppede først ved det ældste bevarede teater i verden, og guiden gav os lidt tid til at udforske området og tage nogle billeder. Så tog vi til Capo Sunion, hvor Poseidons tempel ligger. Det var sådan et magisk sted med udsigt over havet. Vi tilbragte en time her, og så kørte bussen os tilbage til Syntagma. Stedet var virkelig smukt og suggestivt. Jeg synes, det var det hele værd, måske det bedste, jeg så på min tur til Athen.

The tour will start from Athens and will take you along the south coast towards the Athens Riviera. You will travel in a premium air-conditioned bus, as you take in the beautiful scenery on the journey. An English speaking guide and escort will accompany your group, giving you a great deal of insight into the area. You will soon reach the Sounion, and be dazzled by the spectacular landscape around you. The Sounion is one of the prominent areas mentioned in Homer’s epic Odyssey. In ancient Greece, the area was a sacred ground dedicated to Athena and Poseidon.

You can see the marvelous Temple of Poseidon perched on the edge of a cliff, 70 meters above water level. If you wish to explore its interiors, you can buy entry tickets at the temple's entrance.

Gaze across the Aegean Sea from the cliff, where legend says King Aegeus threw himself off. Your guide will talk about the story behind Aegeus throwing himself off the cliff, while also talking about the significance of the area and its history. You can catch a breathtaking sunset over the sea, which is perfect for some memorable photos.
