Det ville være godt med meget specifikke instruktioner om, hvordan man får fat i transport og vejvisning til slottet. Vi gik rundt i byen og prøvede at finde ud af busruter osv. Hvilket gjorde, at vi kom for sent til vores tid på slottet. Dover er ikke særlig indrettet til sine turister, så enhver hjælp ville være gavnlig. Begge vores telefoner var ubrugelige der, da der tilsyneladende er problemer med mobilnetværket. Så da vi havde forladt togets wifi, kunne vi ikke bruge Google til at få hjælp. Lol Dover har desværre meget at indhente i turistsektoren. Bortset fra dette havde vi en fantastisk tid.

It was gorgeous, and there was so much to learn. There is a lot included in the cost, and we spent around four hours exploring.

Living near Dover I have been a few times but the friends I took like me think it's amazing there's so much to see and booking the tickets on line is so easy

Easy to order tickets and retrieve them! There is so much to see and do at Dover Castle, and there is lots of walking involved! Great museum quality, fascinating information and historical videos, and the NAAFI cafe had excellent food. The signage was very helpful and the maps were detailed and easy to read.

Your Experience

Visit England's Dover Castle, an attraction that is comprised of secret wartime tunnels in this medieval royal palace created by Henry II. Follow around life-like hologram figures around the guest rooms, great hall, private chambers, armories, and the kitchen to really get a feel of what life was like back in the day. Visit the 12th-century court, climb to the roof of the Great Tower and peer down over the massive medieval castle from where you stand. The 1940 Miracle of Dunkirk will be revealed to you using film, audio, and archive photography: watch the rescue operation play out before your eyes as 300,000 British and allied troops were evacuated!

You'll see the castle’s stories come to life with a Live Interpretation of its history in the open air. This will give you a chance to delve into the past in 1941 when the castle was the center of the Hellfire Corner. In the months after July, Live Interpretation will take you back to the medieval world of Henry II’s court.
