What to bring

Driving requirements: An International Driving Permit (IDP) under the 1949 Geneva Convention is mandatory to drive in Japan.
Special license requirements:
- Licenses from Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, or Monaco require a Japanese translation from the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF).
- Licenses from countries outside the 1949 Geneva Convention (e.g., China, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia) are not valid for driving in Japan. Be sure to secure your 1949 Geneva Convention permits before departing your country.
Required documents: Bring your physical IDP (or original license with official translation, if applicable) and your physical passport.
US Military personnel: Eligible to drive with a SOFA (USFJ Form 4EJ) Permit or a state-issued license, along with an Active Duty Military ID.

What’s not allowed

Wear safety-appropriate attire—no heels, sandals, or flip-flops.
Online or digital copies of your permit.
Guests below the age of 17.
Guests who are pregnant, have poor cardiovascular health, or those with back or neck issues are not allowed on this experience.
Guests without valid permits, required documents, or IDs will not be allowed to join.
