Billetoplevelsen var glat og nem, da jeg gik online for at købe ... Oplevelsen var fantastisk på bjerget, vi nød endda frokosten på toppen, det var lidt dyrt, men oplevelsen var fantastisk ...

Jeg købte to prioriterede billetter til Matterhorn-oplevelsen, som er dyrere end standardbilletterne, og som normalt giver dig prioriteret boarding for at undgå køerne og garantere en plads. Da vi ankom, var den prioriterede boarding lukket, og efter at have talt med teamet der, ser det ud til, at den havde været det i flere uger før. Jeg kontaktede Headout i håb om at få refunderet den ekstra prioritetspris, vi havde betalt, og jeg vedlagde også et billede af skiltningen, der viste, at adgangen var midlertidigt lukket. Over en uge senere afventer jeg stadig et svar. Den eneste oplevelse er fantastisk, utrolig udsigt, men toget var meget overfyldt i begyndelsen af december med mange mennesker, der stod op. Tidligt på sæsonen, så restauranterne var ikke alle åbne på toppen.

On-Line advanced Ticket purchase - 10/10. Check in at Station in Zermatt - 7/10. This was confusiing and time consuming having to scan bar codes on phone to get an actual paper ticket. Why not just use the bar codes as the tickets? Very strange! Actual train rides were on time and trains were spotlessly clean.

The trip on the Gornergrat cogwherl train was wonderful. The scenery was awe inspiring and when we got to the observation area the views were spectacular! Having clean bathrooms was much appreciated. We did not eat but the little shop was busy and had some nice dishes. The actual ticketing was less than acceptable. There was No one there to assist as we had our tickets on my phone and no one directed us to obtain a ticket from the machines. We had to get into the very long lines to find our we could have used our ticket 🎟 in the premineun lane or get one from the machine. A lot of wanted time and energy and almost messed the only train that fit into our schedule.

The Gornergrat (3,089 m) is one of those places that should be on every traveler's bucket list. Part of the fun is the cogwheel train ride up from Zermatt to Gornergrat. The 30-minute ride will take you from an altitude of 1,605 m to 3,089 m, up to the Gornergrat ridge. A masterpiece of 19th-century engineering, the cogwheel the Gornergrat Bahn was the world’s first fully electrified cog railway. Today it is a modern, eco-friendly railway and will take you through idyllic forests, rocky ravines, gorges, and high alpine landscapes.

When you reach the Gornergrat, enjoy exceptional views of 29 four-thousand meter peaks, including the jagged toothed mountain, Matterhorn in all its glory. You'll also get to see the Monte Rosa massif, with Switzerland’s highest peak (Dufourspitze, 4,634 m), apart from the second-largest glacier in the Alps, the Gorner Glacier. A must-see at the summit station on the Gornergrat is Europe’s highest-altitude hotel: the 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat. Facilities include a restaurant, an astronomical observatory, and boutique shops.
