Det var et vidunderligt sted at besøge, selv om det var lidt bedragerisk, da vi ankom og så på størrelsen af det enorme område, og vi troede, at det ville tage os meget længere tid at besøge det. Tilsyneladende er der mange områder, du ikke får at se. Vi ville også gerne have haft mulighed for at gå tilbage til toiletterne, når vi var færdige med rundvisningen i kirken osv. og fik at vide, at vi skulle gå over i parken for at bruge faciliteterne.

Webstedet er usædvanligt smukt. På den anden side er det kedeligt at skulle bruge en applikation. Audioguiden, som faktisk er en internetapplikation, som du åbner på din mobil, er ikke særlig praktisk. Der er for mange unødvendige kommentarer/instruktioner (ganske enkelt mindst 1 pr. kommentar). Kirken var ved at blive restaureret, hvilket er godt. Men der er ingen information på forhånd eller endda en reduktion i billetprisen for at kompensere. Det er beklageligt.

Da vi først var inde på slottet, var det godt. Vi kunne ikke downloade eller printe billetterne. Det var meget frustrerende. Vi kunne ikke downloade audioguiden, da der ikke var noget internet tilgængeligt. Jeg vil ikke anbefale denne tur. Meget frustrerende oplevelse at prøve at downloade billetterne. Meget nemmere bare at købe billetter på stedet.

Jeg havde betalt for min billet online, men havde problemer med at finde den på min telefon. Opsynsmanden og en ung IT-ekspert hjalp venligt, og jeg fik endelig lov til at komme ind! Jeg elskede alle aspekter af området - dets skønhed og historie, men små børn, der skreg og løb rundt, tog fra oplevelsen (jeg er sikker på, at munkene ville have været forfærdede over den manglende respekt), og personalet så ikke ud til at være bemyndiget til i det mindste at håndhæve en vis anstændighed og kontrol.

It's recommended to cover your shoulders and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Please carry your earphones for the best audio experience.
Bring hats/caps, a bottle of water, and shades to beat the heat.

What's not allowed

You need an Android (version 5.0+) or iOS smartphone for the audio tour at the monastery. It won't work on Windows Phones, older iPhones/iPads/iPods.
Strict dress code: Please note that off-shoulder tops, dresses, and knee-high shorts are not recommended.
Keep in mind food & beverages and large bags or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.
Visitors are not allowed to take photographs in some parts of the monastery.

Accessibility

There is medium accessibility for guests with reduced mobility.
The lower level has wheelchair access though some sections are cobblestoned.

Entry to the church is free for residents of Portugal on Sundays and public holidays.
With disability proof, you can avail up to 60% off on entry.
The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st May, and 25th December.
The Monastery is closed between 9:30am and 1pm on October 24th and December 5th.
Please note that guests may have to wait in queue for a long time before entering the venue.
