Ingen af ovenstående muligheder er helt sande. Jeg var nødt til at vælge noget for bare at skrive her for at tilføje en bemærkning. Ved sikkerhedsindgangen, mens jeg lagde mine ting til scanning, begyndte min partner også at blande sine ting med mine....en simpel menneskelig fejl. Men en sikkerhedsdame, lille af bygning i 50'erne, tog hendes personlige taske og sagde noget på spansk og bad hende om at vente på sin tur og kastede derefter hendes taske mod scanningsboksen. Denne adfærd er uacceptabel på steder som dette, hvor man opfører sig frustreret og reagerer på en uprofessionel måde. At smide andres ejendele, som om det var hendes egne, er mangel på respekt over for en besøgende. Dette ændrede ikke vores syn på hele stedet og vores oplevelse, men det ville være meget bedre uden hærens attitude. Bedste hilsner

Guiden gav indsigtsfulde kommentarer om historie, kunst og kunstnere, mens vi besøgte forskellige gallerier på museet. Hendes bemærkninger på engelsk var meget forståelige og lette at høre med de hviskende headsets, som vores gruppe havde på under den 90 minutter lange rundvisning. Vores guide svarede beredvilligt på spørgsmål under rundvisningen. Da vi var med på turen, da museet åbnede kl. 10.00, undgik vi den lange kø for at komme ind. Mødestedet for turens begyndelse var nemt at finde.

Det var nemt at købe billetter med Headout. Vi fik en guidet tur, og det var meget interessant at lære mere om malerier. Prado-samlingen er betagende

Du skal angive, når du laver billetten, at besøget i de kongelige køkkener ikke er inkluderet, men at du skal lave en separat billet, da vi ankom kl. 10, var billetterne til køkkenerne allerede alle udsolgt, en alvorlig fejl fra din side

A cultural landmark

The Museo del Prado is a site of huge national and global importance. Occupying an 18th-century neoclassical building, the museum is home to over 20,000 works of art. Including 7,500 paintings, 8,000 drawings, 4,800 prints, and 1,000 sculptures and other artworks and historical documents.

Bypass the arduous ticketing queue and, after a brief security check, you are free to roam Prado's galleries. The exhibits on display are spread over 3 levels: basement, first, and second.

Choose your own path

You can explore the museum's galleries for as long as you like. Some of the greats whose works adorn the walls are Francisco Goya, El Greco, Diego Velazquez, Hieronymus Bosch, Peter Paul Rubens, and Titian. Download an app and get a complete overview of Western art and 24 key art pieces.

Learn about the inspiration behind masterpieces like Las Meninas with an optional on-site digital audio guide in English and Spanish. If you are an avid fan of the arts you should upgrade to the Paseo Del Arte card. This one super saver pass will grant you access to Madrid's best museums — Museo del Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and Reina Sofia Museum.
