Mezquita er unik i verden, og det kan du tro, når jeg siger det, for jeg bor tæt på Firenze, hvor vi har forfærdelige eksempler på basilikaer.

Sikke et fantastisk sted at besøge. Vi tog til Córdoba for at besøge Mesquita, og det var det hele værd. Den er kæmpestor. Der er så meget at se og blive forbløffet over. Vi anbefaler det.

Chaufføren i den lille shuttlebus var meget informativ, og assistenten ved busstoppestedet var meget hjælpsom. Fantastisk overblik over byen i de blå og røde ruter, tak.

Det var en stor fornøjelse at besøge katedralen og moskéen, men det værste var at købe billetten. Der er mange sponsorerede hjemmesider, der sælger meget dyre pakker til guidede ture, og de ligger øverst på listen. Det er svært at finde en original hjemmeside blandt disse sider, hvor man kan købe billetter direkte uden ekstra omkostninger.

Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral

Explore the Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral, situated just a short stroll away from stop #2 on Blue Route, this historical marvel dates back to the late 8th century, showcasing a fusion of Hellenistic, Baroque, and Caliphate architectural styles.

The main attraction of the mosque-cathedral is the vast hypostyle hall with rows upon rows of horseshoe arches supported by marble columns. Admire the intricately decorated 'mihrab', which was the focal point for Islamic prayer. Don’t forget to walk through the Gothic nave, which was inserted into the center of the mosque when it was converted into a cathedral. Here, the contrast between the Islamic architecture and the Christian Gothic style is striking and is sure to leave you spell-bound!
