Lit up skies and everything nice
When furry reindeer take you on a sled ride and the star-studded sky has a chance of lighting up in a soft green glow, you’re bound to feel like it’s a dream. Realize this dream on a 4.5-hour tour that starts from the scenic town of Tromso. Comfortable cars will drive you to the Arctic Valley, so all you have to do is sit back and click pictures of the scenery along the way. The English-speaking guide will greet you at the base camp and take you to the land of 200 reindeer waiting to be pampered by you. After a small safety briefing on the best ways of approaching and interacting with reindeer, you’ll be handed buckets of their favorite food mix to feed and pet them gently.
Sled through the snow
Once the reindeer are all fuelled up, it’s time for them to treat you to a one-of-a-kind ride through the snow aboard the Arctic’s oldest vehicle. Hop into your sled, sing jingle bells along the way if you will, and race through the snowy tracks under a blanket of stars for approximately 30 minutes. If you’re lucky, you’ll see beams of green lights dancing radiantly against the night sky. After your adventure, head back to the snug Sami tent or wooden house to wrap up your tour with cups brimming with hot beverages, a 3-course dinner with Sami stew with dietary options you can choose from., Enjoy tales about Sami culture from your guides and a Joik performance, which is a traditional Sami folk song.
