A visit to Palazzo Vecchio is a trip back in time to three eras. Expect to find Roman ruins, a huge Medieval fortress, and amazing Renaissance chambers and paintings. For over 100 years, it was the second house of the Medici family. Today, it is still the political symbol of the city's mayoral office.

If it rains, note that Arnolfo's Tower will be closed to the public, and the medieval guard walk will be open for visiting instead.

This palace is also the seat of the city council. Unfortunately this means that on certain special occasions when institutional ceremonies are scheduled, the museum may be totally or partially closed to the public.
