Der Treffpunkt war genau beschrieben, wir wurden sehr frrundlich begrüßt, der Check-in lief reibungslos. Die Kuppelbesteigung und Besichtigung des Petersdoms gleich früh morgens zu machen war eine super Entscheidung, so leer habe ich den Peterplatz sonst nicht wieder erlebt. Und der Blick von oben über Rom bzw. ins Innere des Petersdoms ist überwältigend.

Quelques éclaircissements qui vous seront utiles car je trouve que les explications sur le site ne sont pas claires: - la réservation de l’horaire au dôme ne veut pas dire être à cette heure-là à l’entrée . Il faut être au bar indiqué à votre heure de réservation (8h nous , donc 7h45 , soit 15 min à l’avance) - Un employé de vox city vous enregistre et vous colle un petit autocollant sur votre veste, nous devons le suivre - Le guide de vox City nous accompagne (avec d’autres personnes) tout au long de la file d’attente de la basilique . Il nous explique qu’il est là seulement pour faire la queue et qu’il détient notre billet d’entrée . Le QR code n’est pas un billet d’entrée . Après la 1ere file d’attente et le portique, il y a une 2eme file d’attente pour l’entrée au dôme . - Le guide nous demande si on veut prendre l’escalier (beaucoup d’attente mais compris ou non dans votre billet, ça dépend) ou si on veut prendre les marches . Si vous êtes en bonne santé , je vous conseille les marches pour gagner du temps . C’est sportif mais c’est à faire ! - Un conseil : réserver pour tôt le matin ou tard dans l’après midi pour éviter la foule

The dome was amazing of course. I thought we would "skip the line" but we still had to wait in line at security and wait in line before going up the steps. It was October and there were a lot of people. I was hoping to have a more express entry.

Even though it was a self guided tour our host was attentive to us until we entered the basilica. We were greeted with croissants and coffee, and he answered all our questions about the tour good naturedly!

What's not allowed

Entry to the Vatican adheres to a strict dress code: shoulders and knees must be covered, low-cut or sleeveless tops and shorts are not permitted for both men and women. Visitors that do not adhere to the dress code could be denied entry to the Vatican.
Mobile phones must remain on silent mode inside the Basilica.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.
Please note that the elevator will take you to the first level of the Dome, but reaching the top involves a 300-step climb. For this reason, this experience is not recommended for children under 7 years and adults over 75 years, or those who have claustrophobia, vertigo or difficulty walking.

Additional information

Expect a long wait at security, especially during peak times. Patience is key, it could take over 2 hours! Tune into your audio guide to pass the time.
While the main entrance to the Basilica is free, a few attractions inside like the Dome require tickets.
At the time you have booked, meet a staff member at Borgo Santo Spirito, 17 (Al San Michele), who can help you download the app, and will escort you to the Vatican security line.
Entry to the Vatican requires a security check. During high seasons, queues for security checks may take up to 150 minutes
