Det var min mands og mit 3. besøg, og vores 2 timers tur omfattede ikke noget, vi nogensinde havde set før, og jeg satte virkelig pris på hendes store viden. Hun havde også en god sans for humor. Vi havde vores 10-årige barnebarn med, og vores guide var så tålmodig med at svare på alle hans spørgsmål.

Perfekt organiseret. Vores guide-arkæolog, Rafael, var meget dygtig og blev ved med at give os forklaringer og svare på alle vores spørgsmål. Besøget var behageligt og meget interessant. Han rådgav os også om, hvordan vi kunne fortsætte besøget, når turen var slut. Tusind tak skal I have.

Først og fremmest valgte vi den perfekte tid på året at besøge - februar. Vejret var smukt, og der var ingen lange køer eller menneskemængder. Men mest af alt var vores guide, SAso, vidunderlig. Han er ekstremt vidende og en fantastisk historiefortæller. Han holdt os fascineret. Vores oplevelse ville ikke have været lige så god uden ham. Tak til Saso!

Ancient wonders

Pompeii is the stuff of legends, and has inspired countless documentaries, movies, and books! The city dates back nearly 2,000 years. An ancient site, the town was unearthed in 1748 AD after the infamous eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. This tour is particularly beneficial because you can stroll past the famously long ticketing queues. You'll even have a dedicated guide for company, who will let you in on interesting anecdotes about the places and things you see.

Pompeii's hidden gems

Start exploring the buildings in Pompeii – from homes to bathhouses, and fast food stores to outdoor theatres. With ancient ruins and a skyline dominated by Mount Vesuvius, the visuals through this discovery are breathtaking. Admire the frescos and statues spread over the town. See the 25 street fountains, 4 public baths, and many business buildings, which paint an almost real picture of the town in its heyday.

Glimpse of Pompeii

Continue following your guide as they recreate the hustle and bustle of this once-busy port town. Discover what each building was used for, where families ate their meals, did laundry, and socialized – and where sailors went when they docked. You'll have headsets to be sure that you catch every word. By the end of this tour you will see how much you have in common with people who lived in the 1st century.

Comfortable shoes are recommended as this tour involves a fair amount of walking.
Bring along your sunscreen, hat, and water bottle.
A valid ID or passport is required for tour entry.

To avoid disruptions or possible denied entry, avoid bringing large purses, bags, or backpacks on your tour.
Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.
Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Additional information

While these tickets enable skipping entry lines, they do not exempt visitors from mandatory security checks at the archaeological site.
Some of the venues or parts of the venue may be subject to last-minute, unpredictable closures.
The tour operator reserves the right to refuse participation on its tours to any guest under the influence of drugs or alcohol or to any guest whose behavior is disorderly or poses a threat to other guests or the staff.
The excavation fee for all first Sundays of the month is free.
At least 10 participants are needed to organize a tour in German or French. The tour will be in English if that requirement isn't fulfilled. Please contact our reservations team to confirm your preferred language at least 24 hours before departure.
