Vores guide var meget sød og vidende. Det, jeg ikke kunne lide, var, at der stod, at det var en 2-timers tur, og at den skulle starte kl. 8.25, hvilket den gjorde, men noget af det, jeg glædede mig mest til, var kuppelbestigningen. Da beskrivelsen sagde 2 timer, følte jeg mig tryg ved at planlægge en ny tur ved middagstid. Vi stod stadig i kø kl. 11.15 for at komme op, og vi var nødt til at gå glip af det, jeg virkelig havde glædet mig til, for at være sikre på at nå den næste tur. Jeg vil foreslå i din beskrivelse, at kuppelbestigningen ikke er før slutningen af turen, og at din tur kan vare op mod 3-4 timer. Da det var et af mine højdepunkter i din turbeskrivelse, gik vi tilbage efter vores anden tur og måtte så betale mere for at tage kuppelbestigningen.

Vi havde en uforglemmelig tur. Selv om vi troede, at vi havde bestilt en audiotur, fortrød vi absolut ikke den guidede tur. Alexandra er en meget entusiastisk guide med stor viden om Peterskirken og Vatikanet. Hendes engelsk er meget godt! Kan også varmt anbefales til besøgende, der har været i Peterskirken før!

Dette var min første Headout-oplevelse, og den var A+! Først og fremmest var vores guide, Brigitta, vidunderlig! Så mange informationer og sjove fakta, hun var også fuld af humor og sjove kommentarer, det var så dejligt! Hun fik os virkelig til at føle os tæt på Rom, Vatikanet og deres historie. Hun var virkelig nem at tale med, og det betyder meget! Bestigningen var ikke svær, hele 551 trin. Der var mange mennesker på toppen, men det er, hvad der sker med store turiststeder. Vores tur blev så meget bedre, fordi vi havde denne dag i Vatikanet!

Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums are home to a number of classical sculptures, tapestries, and paintings by Renaissance greats such as Raphael, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Bernini, and Leonardo da Vinci. A section of the museum is also dedicated to Modern Religious Art. Paintings and sculptures here come from artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Salvador Dalí, and Pablo Picasso. Sistine Chapel
Situated at the end of the Vatican Museums and neighboring St. Peter's Basilica is the famed Sistine Chapel. Built in the 15th century, its walls and ceilings are covered by some of the most astounding frescoes ever produced. The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is especially famous. Painted by Michelangelo in a span of 4 years, the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel are considered to be a cornerstone of western art. Important Information
St. Peter's Basilica
- In order to pay your respects, you must abide by the Basilica's dress code. Sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats are not permitted. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women.
- It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes as the tour involves a fair amount of walking.
- Expect a considerable wait time as you queue for the security checks. It could take up to an hour during the peak season.
Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
- Photography is allowed, only without flash. Taking videos and photos for commercial purposes, or live broadcasting of a show is strictly prohibited.
- Luggage and/or large bags are not allowed inside the venue. You may drop off your bags with the free cloakroom service.
- Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue with the exception of guide dogs for differently-abled people.
