A walk through spectacular sandstone formations
The journey commences with a convenient pick-up from your hotel by a private driver. Relax in an air-conditioned vehicle on your way to the rock town of Adrspach, quite close to the Polish border. What’s so special about rocks, you ask? The answer will become clear as you get the views of the massive forces of nature that stand over the forest like guardians. The rock town feels like it belongs to another world, so much so that it became the filming location of the beloved movie 'The Chronicles of Narnia'. Follow the footsteps of the Pevensie children on a 3.5km trail packed with lush vegetation, strangely shaped rock formations, crystal-clear lakes, and waterfalls.
Sights to watch out for include the 'Elephant Square' that will make you feel surrounded by the tusked giants and an 1893 Gothic Gate that looks plucked straight out of 'Lord of the Rings'. Among the natural wonders, there are curious finds like the bust of the renowned German writer and poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a tribute to his visit in 1790.
Free time to indulge in local flavors
Post your hike, you'll have an hour’s worth of free time to unwind from your excursion. Try out some local specialties and soak up the charming aura of the town.
