With more than 200 artists, Puccini's Turandot, produced by the Shanghai Opera House is a spectacular confluence of music and a gripping tale of a heartless princess. A test of love and fear, Turandot is the final opera of Giacomo Puccini. Considered to be his greatest work, it was premiered at the world-famous La Scala theater in Milan in 1926, almost 18 months after the death of Puccini. The production is directed by Roberto Ando, a well-known screenwriter from Italy. You are in for a night of incredible opera that brings together eastern and western cultures!
The Story
In ancient Peking, Turandot is a beautiful, albeit cold-hearted princess. She proclaims that the man who can solve her three riddles will become her husband. Those who fail to answer the riddles, however, face the graves punishment of all, death. Several men take up the challenge by the princess in an attempt to win her hand but are unsuccessful. A brave and intelligent prince is confident that he can solve the princess's riddles and win her hand. He successfully solves the trio of questions, but Turandot is unwilling to stick to her end of the bargain and marry the prince. In a surprising turn of events, the prince offers his life to Turandot if she can ascertain his name by dawn. Has the prince made a mistake or will love be able to melt the icy cold heart of the princess?

By Metro: You can hop on to the Metro Tram and get off at the Burj Khalifa Station. A 20-minute walk from the station will lead you to the venue.
By Bus: If you decide to travel by bus, get off at the Dubai Mall Station and then walk to the venue.
