Your Experience
Your Experience
Depart Brisbane and pass by the craggy peaks of the Glass House Mountains towards the famous Steve Irwin Way. Make your way to the Noosa River Ferry, Sunshine Coast (time permitting), and the Cooloola Beach Highway. Your 4WD ride will take you along the surf beach and the colored hills of Double Island Point before arriving at Rainbow Beach. Take a short break before hopping on your 4WD again, and drive along the sandy beaches of Inskip Point track, where you will board the ferry to Fraser Island. As you cruise along the bay, snap photographs of Fraser Island's west coast, as well as Hervey Bay, the world's whale-watching capital. Spot humpback whales, dolphins, turtles, sharks, eagles, and sea birds here.
Then, arrive at Fraser Island World Heritage National Park. Take the 4WD and listen to stories from your local guide as you drive past Seventy-Five Mile Surf Beach. Keep your eyes open - you might spot dingoes, kangaroos, and whales (in season)! Reach the southern tip of Fraser Island including Hook Point and cross as many as 8 freshwater creeks by 4WD. Continue your exploration and see the world's largest rainforest growing in sand, the Satinay and Kauri forests. Enjoy a relaxing stroll on the rainforest boardwalk at Wanggoolba Creek in beautiful Pile Valley before moving on from a swim in the fresh waters of Lake McKenzie and Birrabeen.
Travel past Pile Valley and Satinay Forest. When you reach Lake McKenzie, take photos, swim, or relax in the clear white sandy beaches. Then, enjoy a picnic lunch (fresh fruits, cold drinks) at the lake or rainforest. Return by taking the Eurong Beach Resort route, and go through Seventy-Five Mile Beach highway, Govi Creek, and Dilli Village Environmental Eco-Camp. Don't miss out on taking photos of Double Island's colored sands before boarding the ferry. There will be a short break at Rainbow Beach or Noosa before you go on the journey back to Brisbane.
