Discover the mystical highlands
Set out on a breathtaking 2-day journey from Edinburgh into the heart of Scotland's mystical Highlands. Travel in luxury and experience the unique blend of stunning landscapes, fascinating history, and Scotland's finest whisky, all peppered with tales and trivia from your knowledgeable English-speaking guide.
Day 1: Loch Ness & the Highland Capital
Start your journey with a visit to the charming village of Luss and the wilderness of Rannoch Moor, before exploring the haunting beauty of Glencoe. Glencoe is famous for the Glencoe Massacre of 1692, where members of the Clan MacDonald were killed by government troops. The visitor center provides detailed historical insights. Post a delicious lunch in Fort William, witness the grandeur of Ben Nevis, and drive alongside the mysterious Loch Ness. As you drive, try to spot the mysterious "Nessie", as the creature is fondly called. End the day in Inverness, the lively capital of the Highlands.
Day 2: Time travel & whisky tasting
Step back in time as you visit the historic Culloden Battlefield and Ruthven Barracks on day 2. The barracks are now ruins, but they are well-preserved and maintained by Historic Scotland, offering a glimpse into Scotland’s military past. If you fancy a tipple, choose to visit the Dalwhinnie Distillery, home to some of the best Scotch whisky. Round off the tour with a comfortable ride back to Edinburgh, taking home memories of a truly Scottish experience.
