Making Tea the Traditional Way
Get an introduction to the refined art of the Japanese tea ceremony in Kyoto through this tea-making experience. Upon arrival at the tea house, meet your instructor, a licensed tea master, and get to know the customs of the tea house. Your 45-min session will start with a brief on the history of making tea and how it emerged as an art form. Adorned with calligraphy from Urasenke school's 15th grand master, this experience has also been selected by many guests from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It's Tea Time!
Following the instructions of the tea master, learn how to make tea in the traditional style. Enjoy the traditional sweets to accompany your steaming hot cup of tea. Your instructor will perform the matcha tea (powdered green tea) making ceremony, demonstrating the proper techniques and etiquette involved in the process. The tranquil process will captivate you, and the taste of the perfect cup of matcha is sure to make your palette happy.
